Website Terms of Use
Effective date: August 15, 2026
About These Terms
This website is owned and operated by Andrew Young Choi, PhD (“I,” “me,” or “my”), whose principal place of business is in New York.
These Terms govern only use of this public website. Psychotherapy and other professional services are governed by separate agreements and by the laws and professional requirements applicable where those services are provided, including the jurisdiction in which the client is located.
Professional services are provided only in jurisdictions where I am legally authorized to practice and only when services are clinically appropriate, mutually agreed upon, and available.
Informational Purpose
The information on this website is provided for general educational and informational purposes. It is not psychological or medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or a substitute for care from a qualified professional.
Use of this website or submission of an appointment request does not create a psychologist-client relationship. Such a relationship is established only through mutual agreement to begin professional services.
Do not use this website, email, telephone, voicemail, text messaging, or the appointment request system for emergencies or urgent clinical needs. If you are in immediate danger or need emergency medical assistance, call 911. In the United States, you may also call or text 988 for crisis support.
Accuracy and Availability
I make reasonable efforts to keep the website accurate and current, but information may change. I do not warrant that all content will always be complete, current, error-free, or continuously available.
You should verify information that is important to a decision about seeking professional services.
Website Disclaimer
To the fullest extent permitted by law, this public website and its general informational content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. I am not liable for loss or harm arising solely from reliance on general website content, temporary website unavailability, or use of third-party links, except where liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. This provision applies only to use of the public website. It does not apply to professional services or limit any duty arising from a psychologist-client relationship.
Communications and Privacy
Electronic and telephone communications may involve privacy and security risks, and no method of communication can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Please do not send detailed or highly sensitive clinical, medical, financial, or emergency information through ordinary email, voicemail, or text message. Appointment requests should be submitted through the designated SimplePractice client portal.
Submitting an inquiry does not guarantee availability, acceptance as a client, or a response. Information is handled in accordance with applicable law, my Website Privacy Policy, and, when applicable, my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and the agreements governing professional services.
Social Media and Impersonation
My only professional social media account is LinkedIn. I do not solicit, arrange, or book psychotherapy sessions, or accept payment, through social media direct messages. Any other social media account or message representing itself as me or my practice is unauthorized and not affiliated with me. Prospective clients should use the secure request form linked from this website.
Professional and Institutional Affiliations
Unless expressly stated otherwise, the views presented on this website are my own and do not represent or imply endorsement by any institution or organization with which I am affiliated.
Third-Party Websites and Services
This website may link to third-party websites or services for convenience, additional information, or access to services such as the SimplePractice client portal.
Third-party websites and services are governed by their own terms, privacy policies, accessibility practices, and security measures. A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement.
Information that I receive through a third-party service is handled as described in my Website Privacy Policy and, when applicable, my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the original text, branding, design elements, and other content on this website are owned by or licensed to me and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
You may view, download, or print reasonable portions of the website for personal, noncommercial use. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute, republish, sell, or commercially exploit website content without written permission, except as permitted by applicable law. Third-party materials remain the property of their respective owners.
Acceptable Use
You may not:
Use the website for an unlawful purpose;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the website, its systems, or associated accounts;
Introduce malicious code or other harmful technology;
Interfere with or disrupt the website’s operation;
Impersonate another person; or
Use automated methods to access or extract website content in a manner that materially burdens or disrupts the website or violates applicable law.
Changes to These Terms
I may revise these Terms periodically. Revised Terms become effective when they are posted and the effective date is updated, unless applicable law requires additional notice or consent.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by applicable federal law and, to the extent state law applies, the laws of the State of New York, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the extent permitted by law.

Website Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 1, 2026
Scope
This Website Privacy Policy explains how Andrew Young Choi, PhD (“I,” “me,” or “my”) handles information in connection with this public website, appointment requests accessed through links on the website, and website-related email and telephone communications.
This policy applies to information I receive or control. Third-party platforms and service providers also process information according to their own privacy policies, terms, technologies, and contractual arrangements.
This policy does not replace my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices. When information constitutes protected health information, my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable federal and state law govern. In the event of a conflict, applicable law and the HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices control.
Information Processed Through the Public Website
This website is hosted by Squarespace. It does not contain a form through which visitors submit health, clinical, or appointment request information. Merely browsing the website does not require you to provide your name, contact information, medical history, diagnosis, or other clinical information.
When you visit the website, Squarespace may automatically collect or process technical and usage information, including:
IP address and approximate location
Browser, device, operating system, and network information
The website or page that referred you here
Pages viewed
Dates, times, session information, and cookie or similar identifiers
Depending on the website’s settings and features, interactions such as clicks, links selected, scrolling, searches, and time spent on pages
This information may be used to deliver, operate, secure, maintain, and troubleshoot the website; understand general website traffic and activity; and improve the website’s content and usability.
Cookies and Similar Technologies
Squarespace uses cookies and similar technologies to operate and secure this website. Necessary cookies support essential website functions. Depending on the website’s settings and visitor choices, analytics or performance cookies may also be used to measure general website activity.
Squarespace and any other service providers enabled on the website may use cookies or similar technologies and may collect information about online activity over time or across different websites or online services, as described in their respective privacy policies.
You may manage cookies through your browser settings and any cookie controls made available on the website. Restricting cookies may affect certain website functions or the completeness of website measurements.
I do not independently operate a process that responds to browser “Do Not Track” signals. Squarespace and other service providers may respond to browser settings or privacy signals according to their own policies and technologies.
Appointment Requests Through SimplePractice
Appointment request links on this website open a separate client portal operated by SimplePractice. When you follow one of these links, you leave this Squarespace website. Information entered into the SimplePractice portal is submitted through SimplePractice rather than through this website.
Information submitted through SimplePractice may include your name, contact information, scheduling preferences, reason for seeking services, and other information you choose to provide. SimplePractice processes that information to operate its portal and practice management services and makes relevant information available to me so that I may review and respond to your request.
SimplePractice’s own privacy policy, security practices, and platform terms apply to its processing. Information that I receive or maintain through SimplePractice is handled in accordance with applicable law, my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, and, where applicable, the agreements governing professional services.
Submitting an appointment request does not create a psychologist-client relationship or guarantee availability, acceptance as a client, or a response.
Email, Telephone, Voicemail, and Text Communications
You may choose to contact me through the email address or telephone number published on this website. The practice uses managed Google Workspace services, including Gmail and Google Voice, for these communications.
Depending on how you communicate, I and the applicable communications provider may receive or process:
Your name, email address, or telephone number
The date and time of the communication
Voicemail, text message, or email content
Call and message metadata
Any other information you choose to provide
Please do not send detailed or highly sensitive clinical, medical, financial, or emergency information through ordinary email, voicemail, or text message. These communication methods may involve privacy and security risks and cannot be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Do not use this website, email, telephone, voicemail, text messaging, or the appointment request system for emergencies or urgent clinical needs. If you are in immediate danger or need emergency medical assistance, call 911. In the United States, you may also call or text 988 for crisis support.
Information you voluntarily communicate may be received and retained by the practice. When applicable, identifiable health information is handled in accordance with HIPAA, my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices, and other legal and professional confidentiality requirements—even when the sender has not yet become a client.
Sending an email, leaving a message, calling, or sending a text does not create a psychologist-client relationship or guarantee a response.

These statements do not limit or describe the independent processing that service providers may undertake under their own policies and agreements.
Third-Party Websites and Services
This website may contain links to websites and services that I do not own or operate. When you follow an external link, the third party’s own terms and privacy practices apply.
A link does not necessarily constitute endorsement. This policy does not govern information collected independently by an unaffiliated third party.
Retention
I retain information within my control for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, to respond to communications and requests, maintain appropriate business and professional records, meet legal and professional obligations, resolve disputes, and protect the website and practice.
Retention periods may vary depending on the nature of the information, why it was received, whether professional services were established, and applicable legal, ethical, insurance, and recordkeeping requirements.
Squarespace, SimplePractice, Google, telecommunications providers, and other service providers may retain information according to their own contracts, policies, systems, and account settings.
Clinical records and protected health information are subject to separate legal, ethical, and professional retention requirements.
Security
I use safeguards reasonably appropriate to the nature of information within my control. No website, portal, email system, telephone system, storage system, or method of internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Nothing in this section limits any privacy, confidentiality, information security, or breach notification obligation imposed by HIPAA or other applicable law.
Questions and Requests
You may contact me with questions about this policy or information that you submitted directly through website-related communications. You may also report information that you believe is inaccurate.
Requests for access, correction, or deletion will be considered and handled when required by applicable law, subject to appropriate identity verification and any applicable legal, ethical, professional, privilege, security, insurance, or record retention obligations.
Requests concerning clinical records or protected health information are governed by my HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices and applicable law.
Children’s Privacy
This website describes professional services intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly solicit personal information through this website from children under 13.
A parent or legal guardian who believes that a child under 13 has submitted personal information may contact me using the information below.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be revised to reflect changes in the website, technology, service providers, business practices, or applicable requirements.
Material changes will be communicated by posting the revised policy on this page and updating its effective date. Additional notice will be provided when required by applicable law.
